Missing rubber PTT talk button on walkie talkie

Is your Motorola PMR licence free walkie-talkie missing the push-to-talk button?

Mike Ashby Comms offers a refurbishing service for most makes of walkie talkie two way radios. With some makes and models you will need to replace the complete housing as things like the antenna, PTT rubber or buttons are an integral part of the housing.  This is true of the Motorola XTNi, XTNiD, XT420 and XT460 PMR  licence free walkie talkie handsets. I replace the housing and, if required, repair the actual internal PTT switch. The switch is often damaged when users try to put the radio into talk mode after the rubber button falls off by using a sharp object to actuate the actual mechanical switch.

On the subject of the rubber button falling off; I believe that many of the buttons are damaged or pulled off by users, for whatever reason. These items should not just fall off during normal radio use, so a word with staff members maybe in order.
