Mike Ashby Comms offer a flat rate repair service for the Motorola XTNi, XTNiD, XT420 and XT460 walkie talkie two way radio. This includes re-casing of the radio(s) where the case is in a bad state or it is missing the rubber push to talke button. Fortunately it is not common for the push-to-talk button to just fall off. One has to presume that staff that use the radio pick away at the rubber button until it comes away from the body. Since the button is an integral part of the case it cannot be replaced and the whole radio housing has to be replaced. Further, attempts are often made to put the radio into talk mode by inserting a sharp object into the radio through the hole where the PTT switch is exposed after the rubber has fallen off. This often leads to damage of the actual mechanical switch on the printed circuit board. This then has to be replaced which adds to the cost of just replacing the case.
I can repair many makes of 446 licence free radios including those manufactured Kenwood, Icom, Vertex, Hytera, Opus etc.
